Gone to Texas Schedule

Many colleges and schools host welcome events for new Longhorns. Some will take place prior to the University-Wide Gone to Texas event on Sunday, August 23. A full schedule of events will be shared on this page in early August. Students will receive more information about these events directly from their college or school.

On Sunday, August 23, President Jim Davis will officially welcome you to the Longhorn community with a unique celebration, Gone to Texas 2026. This event kicks off new students' journey with a short program hosted by President Davis and special guests on the Main Mall in front of the Tower.
