Kick off and celebrate the Fall 2026 term at the School of Architecture's welcome back event, Gone to SOA! All students, faculty and staff are invited to hear SOA's welcome address and presentation from Dean Heather Woofter and program leadership in the Texas Union Theater.

Following the welcome, there will be light refreshments and a tabling fair showcasing school resources and student organizations in Goldsmith Hall Courtyard. Dean Heather Woofter and members of the SOA administration will be present throughout to greet and mingle with students, faculty and staff as we usher in a new academic year.

CommUnity is Moody College’s annual welcome event before students head to the University-wide Gone to Texas celebration on the Main Mall. They will also have the opportunity to connect with Moody College staff and the deans.

CommUnity 2026 will aim to:

Join us for Gone to CNS Carnival Kick-off on Sunday, Aug. 23rd from 2:00-4:00pm in Welch Hall (WEL). This come-and-go celebration is the perfect opportunity to meet other new CNS students, discover ways to get involved, and explore everything the college has to offer before classes begin. The deans will give brief welcome remarks in the main auditorium at 2:15 p.m. and 3:15 p.m., while the concourse will showcase 50+ student organizations, academic programs and campus resources. Hang out to play carnival games for tickets, grab delicious sweets, challenge your new friends in our board game lounge, and take home exclusive CNS Swag!
