Beat the Heat
Join us in the Texas Union for free food, games, giveaways, movies and more. Beat the heat by spending the afternoon watching a cinematic double feature and testing your trivia knowledge for great prizes. Bowl for strikes, play air hockey, test your hand at billiards, karaoke your favorite songs or just hang out and eat with us inside. A perfect way to have fun, meet new friends and, most importantly, stay cool on a Saturday!

Gone to Texas
Your official welcome to UT Austin! Gone to Texas is a university-wide program that begins with activities in your specific college or school— checkgonetotexas.utexas.edu/schedule for times — and concludes by gathering with fellow new students from across the university in front of the Tower at 8:30p.m. for the official program to welcome you and celebrate your arrival.
Horns Up Night
Longhorn Tradition starts here! Join your fellow classmates in DKR stadium for a three-part event full of Longhorn and #UT20 pride! Arrive at DKR stadium at 5:45 p.m. for the Texas Kickoff Rally presented by Gatti’s Pizza. Get pumped up for the season with appearances from the Orangetheory Fitness Hype Squad, Smokey the Cannon, and football head coach Charlie Strong. Once the rally ends, it’s time to head onto the field for the Texas ’20 Class Photo. After the event you’ll be able to download the photo and zoom in to try and find yourself. After the rally, head to the Alumni Center for the Texas Exes Orange and White Welcome. This casual, Texas-sized celebration includes a free dinner, music, a photo booth, giveaways, games, Class of 2020 class ring reveal and more!
Women’s Soccer: Texas vs. College of Charleston
Cheer on the women’s soccer team at Mike Myers Stadium as they take on College of Charleston Cougars at Mike A. Myers Stadium. The first 500 students get FREE Raising Canes. If you haven’t had Raising Cane’s yet, you’re in for a treat, so come early and dig in! Gates open at 6:30 p.m.
Party on the Plaza
Join us at this free welcome-back-to-campus event for the entire UT community. Activities will include a student org fair, and the annual Scholarship Shootout in which one male and one female student will win a $2,000 spring 2016 scholarship. Enjoy games/contests, free ice cream and a $5 pizza lunch with a drink included and a free T-shirt while supplies last.
Women’s Volleyball: Texas vs. UTSA
Come out to Gregory Gym and show off your Longhorn spirit as we cheer on the Texas Volleyball team in their game against The University of Texas at San Antonio. The first 750 students inside Gregory Gym receive a FREE Horns’ House t-shirt starting at 6 p.m., courtesy of Mighty Fine Burgers Fries & Shakes. Texas Volleyball takes on UTSA starting at 7 p.m.
Football: Texas vs. Notre Dame
Cheer on your Longhorns together as we face off against Notre Dame in the season opener. Your Big Ticket gets you in the game for this highly anticipated matchup. All students may attend the Fan Fest at DKR; student members of the Texas Exes are welcome at the Alumni Center tailgate. #GoHornsGo
