That’s a wrap! After nine sessions, six weeks and 24 days filled with opening programs, campus tours, late night advising sessions, hilarious shows, and endless donut holes, UT Orientation has come to an end. (Until August!)
Our new Longhorns definitely got into the Longhorn State of Mind, but to get there y’all had to journey through what we like to call the “Seven Stages of Orientation.” From nerves to excitement and everything in between, here is what the emotional journey of orientation looked like in summer 2016.
Being a little nervous before the big day is only natural! But y’all made an awesome impression on your new classmates and your new home.
Actually so nervous for orientation tomorrow #UTOrientation

After the initial nerves came the excitement. Finally, #UT20 and our new transfer students were on the Forty Acres and ready to experience everything orientation had to offer.
I’M LOVING #UTORIENTATION

Did we mention that UT is a pretty large campus? We’ve got to fit all 50,000 of our students somewhere! We probably should have warned you all about the hills. Lots and lots of hills. But all that walking was totally worth it…right?
*gets winded walking to the BMC* #UTOrientation

After being surrounded by your fellow longhorns for three days straight, it’s hard not to get your horns up! Some of you were truly moved by the stories of your classmates, and your burnt orange pride was almost impossible to contain.
UT is without a doubt the greatest school in the world #UT20

Once you have been on the Forty Acres it is pretty hard to leave them behind. The second y’all left you were ready to come back to your new home!

Okay, so maybe this stage wasn’t experienced by everyone, but for many of you orientation was the perfect opportunity to try and catch ‘em all at UT’s best Poke stops.
